About Us

Canterbury Partners was founded in 2017 by Kim Morrish, a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. Kim brings to Canterbury Partners a unique blend of experience from 10 years managing international aid programmes and 20 years as a successful entrepreneur – launching start-ups, acquiring businesses and driving dramatic growth.

Our Impact Investor Partners include a wide range of social activists and successful entrepreneurs who now want to give back to their communities, as well as angel networks and investment firms dedicated to investing in businesses that have a discernible social impact.

What We Do

Canterbury Partners invests in entrepreneurs who have a clear vision of how to effect positive change in people’s lives, combined with the experience, hard work and commitment to deliver on this. When relevant, we also provide advice and mentoring to help these visionary social entrepreneurs succeed.

We understand the importance of diversity in the field of social impact, and the barriers that many women-led enterprises, in particular, face when accessing capital. We believe this market has huge potential for growth, but is currently underserved by institutional investors. For this reason, we also focus on companies where women own at least 50 per cent of the business.

Our investments range in size from £25,000 to £3,000,000. For larger investments, our preference is to take a majority shareholding in the business.

Our Philosophy

As the spiritual capital of England, Canterbury has been the destination for pilgrimages and those committed to a higher purpose for over 1000 years, bringing people from diverse backgrounds together on a selfless journey towards a greater good.
Canterbury Partners aims to reflect that centuries-old tradition, bringing investors, entrepreneurs and businesses together to facilitate positive change and redefine the act of giving.

Our four guiding pillars are:

Inclusive by nature

Led by a successful female entrepreneur, Canterbury Partners understands the importance of diversity and inclusivity and the barriers that many women-led enterprises face in accessing capital. A key focus of investment is companies where women own at least 50% of the business.

Partnership and passion

Our passionate belief is that great social impact and change can be achieved through investors and ethical enterprises working together in close collaboration. By getting like-minded people together, great things can be achieved.

For the people, by the people

Our investors include a range of successful entrepreneurs, angel networks and investment firms, all of whom are focused on investing in ethical enterprises committed to positive social impact.

We are patient and protective

We work closely with recipients to ensure the investment timeline is right for the business and reflects its needs, as well as protecting the capital to ensure the business is sustainable over the longer term.
